Trilby's Notes

Trilby's Notes is the latest effort by Ben Croshaw, featuring his best work to date in terms of graphics and writing. There are considerably more locations to explore this time around, but a strange addition is the use of a text parser for interaction commands.

All actions must be typed into an input box, and some guesswork is required to figure out the exact sentence that the game accepts in certain situations.

    Again a masterpiece by Ben Croshaw, i liked all his games so far.

    5 days a stranger, 7 days a skeptic and also the galaxy of fantabulous wonderment (which reminded me of space quest 5) kept me playing for a long time.

    This guy is a genius.

    I've gotten bored of all his games pretty quick. I think they are incredibly over-rated.

    in my opinion, "point and click" was the greatest invention of adventure gaming. i don't like typing. i realized that while standing in the dark and wondered how this thing at the window is called... err USE ... err.. THING (*dammit*) I tried german words, but they don't work :D I quit, when the game told me to type ASK SOMEONE ABOUT SOMETHING MANOR. uh no. too much text! I think i go and read a book ;)

    This is definately creepier than any game I've played by this guy. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

    In spite of its relatively simplistic (although still neat and professional looking - comparable to the early sierra adventure games) graphics, this game manages two things the majority of Hollywood horror franchises fail to achieve: a truly frightening atmosphere and enthralling story lacking plot holes. For this alone it deserves to be applauded. The fact it is also an entertaining adventure game makes Trilby's notes a magnificent achievement on the part of the author.
