Between Heaven and Hell

Between Heaven and Hell is a platformer by Matt Dabrowski that took more than two years to develop. It's not surprising that the developer cited Jordan Mechner and Eric Chahi as main inspirations, since many of the gameplay elements from their previous works can be found here.

It's a difficult game to recommend, partly due to the unforgiving action sequences although solutions to most puzzles can be found in a walkthrough posted on the same site. Level codes can be used to resume progress. The post-mortem is an interesting read as it provides a summary of the entire development process. One thing's for sure, opinions will be divided about this production.
