Dicewars DS is a multiplayer version of a popular Flash based strategy game for Nintendo DS. Both single and multiplayer game modes with up to eight players are supported.

Your task is to conquer the whole game field by rolling dice. Each turn you may attack any opponent's territory from one of your adjacent territories as long as your territory has more than one die on it. A battle is won when you roll more than the defender during an attack. [thanks to Caffeinekid]

Dicewars DS Nice :D I couldn't get multiplayer working, but the singleplayer version is as good as the flash version! I am posting this here, as there seems to be some interests in DS homebrew lately ;) I came across a remake of the Amiga game Cube-X, homepage here http://mouseonmars.dev-fr.org/p3593/2007-07-24-cube-x-ds-v1-0.html
The site is in French but the game is english.
The remake is very well done and I advise anyone with an interest into puzzle games to check it out. Cave Story PSP Port Available Great news for the homebrew scene, but realistically of little gravity.
This release limits itself to the union of two subsets, the homebrew community and those who know of the PSP remake. An official Cave Story PSP release markets itself to every PSP owner out there.
If only Sony opened up it's system, like Nintendo does with the Wii. Does this work with normal psp, or a 'cracked' version is needed? I already hate that "official" PSP release. bigbosssnk:

Nintendo hasn't opened up the Wii any more than Sony has with the PS3. In fact, Microsoft's Xbox 360 is more open than either of the other two current home consoles.

If you're talking about WiiWare, that's open to licensed Wii developers only. Joe Homebrew won't be able to do jack.

firesword: you'll need to be able to run homebrew for this release. From Joystiq's article on Wiiware:
[Nintendo] is making it clear that they're looking for little guys to make games for the console, though it's currently unclear exactly how that will be done. Interestingly, Reggie Fils-Amie [said] that the games would be checked for bugs but not vetted by Nintendo. Nintendo will also be deciding how many points the games will be sold for when they're put on the Wii Shop channel. With this brave new world of indie development, who knows where the next big Wii game will come from now?
That seems more like a indie friendly version of XBLA to me. Heh, ok well quoting joystiq isn't a great argumentative tactic - their excuse for journalism is often full of holes or wild speculation.

WiiWare is available to Wii developers. You need a Wii dev kit to develop on Wii. In order to get a Wii dev kit you have to either already have one, or you have to prove to Nintendo that you are a serious developer with the budget to produce a game. Lone coders in their bedrooms have no chance, not least because Nintendo do not register developers unless they have their own office. Did we ever need Variant in the first place? ;) Neither of those things will happen. Do some research :) The Cave Story official PSP release hasn't done anything in, like, forever.
