Academy of Magic is the latest release from Total Eclipse Games, which is another great addition to a line of excellent independently developed word-based puzzlers published this year.

The objective of the game is to make the longest words from a collection of alphabets found on the playing field. Tiles can be selected by left clicking and linking them together. This will eliminate the letters from the board and increase your mana accordingly, which can be used to cast spells for some magical assistance in sticky situations.

Magic gems will appear on the board from time to time based on your performance, and extra points are rewarded for making words using these tiles. An option to watch a demonstration on how to use a spell is available to the player whenever new one is unlocked.
