Space is a stylish 2D vertical scrolling shooter. It's got a pretty unique visual style, in that all the graphics are built from small cubes with black outlines. The gameplay is typical for the genre. Blast lots of different aliens and space ships to smitherines. After a while bosses appear, and you get upgrades to tackle the mounting difficulty.

The story. You were on your honeymoon trip with your hot new wife, when a meteor struck her down. Enraged by sorrow you turn your car into a space ship and venture into space to get revenge on everything you can find.

Controls are simple. Arrow keys to move, and Z to shoot.

So, compared to the first time around he released this, what changed? And why did it warrant a second release? I played it way back when and this is just how I remember it, except with a scoring system in place. Maybe it's got some new bosses (that I never would've seen anyways, this game is hard!)?

It never was released before. Only a nearly finished demo version was posted at a few forums (including the Independent Gaming forums, I believe).

I was planning on adding an intro cutscene, but I settled with making the game easier by adding lives and properly bugchecking everything instead. The highscores and scoring features are also improved.

Well, that answers that, then. Thanks for clearing that up.
