Exception is a 3D scrolling shooter which mainly features enemies made out of grey blocks, and though that may sound unimpressive it does allow the developer to place nearly two thousand objects on screen at any time.

Use the cursor keys to move, and press either the A or S key to rotate. Hold the Z key to shoot, and press the X key to activate your missile lock. You can use the C key to push blocks away, but only if the second gauge at the bottom left of the screen has at least one charge.

Quite beautiful when all fx are turned on, nice. Could use an translation of the config menu and scoring.

...and oh yeah...plays even nicer with a pad, A and S mapped to the L and R triggers.

Looks dang awesome. The first level is mellow enough, then the second one goes crazy with all the blocks falling on your head. Love it.

Just played though both levels, total blast from start to finish

Just find that the lock-on laser aren't necessary in any way. The time it takes to lock on all the stuff around you can be used to blast it all with the normal laser, and you actually want to keep all the small debris around you to push them onto enemies, Clean Asia's Attractor style.

Lock-on is needed when playing for score which is basically the only way to play it properly...unlike Clean Asia.

It doesn't feel like lock-on is needed for score, sort of. I feel that it's easier to destroy small debris in behind you with it rather than spinning around. Scoring in this game was based more on pushing the blocks I believe.

Great game hampered by an awkward control scheme.

Indeed, I don't know where the hell they got that awkward key setup, but after some experimentation I found one that fits very well with me.

I'm not sure how the scoring works because I can't see any letters in the game. My computer probably doesn't have the font used or something.

I just unlocked future difficulty and my computer is now on it's knees. Time to upgrade.
