Metroid Cubed is an almost complete web-based version of the original NES Metroid, but using pre-rendered voxels based objects.

The website is also home to many other Nintendo-inspired demos.

Requires Shockwave.

Paul, are you using Vista by any chance? Shockwave is totally unoptimized for Vista. This should be fixed by the end of the year, when Adobe releases a Vista/Intel Mac version of Director MX.

Normally Metroid Cubed should have no trouble running full speed on any 1Ghz+ computer. Even a 733Mhz could give you 20-30 fps.

I'm using Win XP actually. CPU: 2.0 GHz AMD processor. Maybe I should try it in IE instead of Firefox?
